sri lanka natureYapahuwa was single of the brief capitals of medieval Sri Lanka with many attractive ruins sprinkled in every way. The main local ruin of all is the grand though Short-lived 90 indicator granite rock fort of Yapahuwa which some consider excels Sigiriya growing rapidly almost a hundred meters above the neighboring lowlands. The surviving stone work certainly does florid but exquisite for many.

sri lanka natureIn 1272, King Bhuvenakabahu transferred the capital from Polonnaruwa to Yapahuwa in the face of Dravidian invasions as of South India, bringing the Sacred Tooth Relic with him. Following the death of King Bhuvenakabahu in 1284, the Pandyans of South India invaded Sri Lanka one time again, and succeed in capturing blessed fang Relic. Following its capture, Yapahuwa was mainly forsaken and populated by Buddhist monks and religious ascetics.
